I have been using modern technology to reach souls long before Facebook or Twitter came along. What a GREAT reminder on how to use this all for GOOD and HIS GLORY. I follow you on Twitter and LOVE being able to pray for your ministry. You are a blessing to my family here in little Altus, OK.

That was explained so well. A Christian telling everyone on Twitter that they are watching the Lakers game or eating fried chicken at KFC is questionable but using it to put scripture and edifying comments is using it to witness and exalt God!

Thank you!

A excellant article. There is much to consider here.
As a blogger of almost 2 years-I struggle with finding a balance. I think keeping yourself accountable to someone is helpful , as well.
I have to be careful that I don't let comments inflate my ego, or when I comment that I don't embellish to inflate someone else's ego. I think, sometimes this is a un-natural environment, to have our mind filled with so many peoples' lives that really aren't in our everyday life.
I struggle with the pitfalls.
thanks for this

This is excellent. We have held out on allowing our teeenagers to start facebook accounts although my daughter and I have blogs, hers runs through my account so we monitor every comment and post. We have major concern about our teenage sons' tendency to talk before thinking verbally and don't want them to have to regret anything they "say" on the internet that is so permanent.

Thank you for writing this helpful post.

Great insight on this very popular subject. It seems as if the computer has become the local drug of choice for many. Using these tools for the spreading of the Gospel is a great concept and should be implemented into our lives. Thanks Pastor.

Great principles Pastor Chappell! I have come to many of the same conclusions regarding blogs and Twitters, especially about the need to "blog and tweet" humbly. I can see how writting about yourself all day can lead to narcissism (as if we don't have enough of that in our soceity). I will definitely take these principles to heart and pray that God will help me use technology wisely and for His glory!
