1. Dedicating My Grandson

    I had the joyous privilege of joining Peter and Danielle in dedicating my grandson, Camden, to the Lord during our Sunday evening service at church two weeks ago.

    I like to choose a verse for each baby at our church baby dedications. For Camden, I chose my own life’s verse: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16). (more…)


  2. Celebrating the Resurrection

    As we approach Resurrection Sunday, I am thrilled for a number of reasons. I’m thankful, first of all, for a resurrected Saviour; I love celebrating His victory. And I especially love celebrating His victory by telling others about Him and the salvation He offers. The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16), and it is validated by the empty tomb. Resurrection weekend provides a special opportunity to preach the Gospel to many who do not ordinarily attend church.

  3. Our Heritage of Prayer

    There are ongoing efforts today to remove every semblance of God from our society. Ironically, those who are pushing these efforts from a platform of “tolerance” are increasingly intolerant of Judeo-Christian values and beliefs.

    Historical precedence, however, points to America’s Christian heritage in which many of our political leaders recognized our need for God. All through our history, even in recent years, our leaders have offered public prayers seeking the hand of God’s blessing. (more…)
