Do you ever feel that you have more responsibilities than time in which to perform them? Actually, I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t feel that way! Thankfully, God has given us a resource to help us make decisions concerning our time. It’s called wisdom! This is why when God commands us to redeem the time, He tells us, “be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is” (Ephesians 5:17).
In my own life, I have realized that the choice between good, better, and best in relation to my time really boils down to one thing—discerning the will of God for my life at that moment.
Below are five truths that have been a help to me in allocating God’s wisdom as I try to steward my time for His glory! (more…)

Walk into any bookstore, and you will find dozens—maybe even hundreds—of books on life management. (I have many in my own library.) There are books on organizing, scheduling, budgeting, prioritizing, administrating, goal-setting, people-managing…obviously, life management is a popular and necessary skill.
Even a surface skim through these books will reveal a common sub-theme. Authors attempt to teach you how to be successful by living out your dreams. They encourage you to dream big and then use management skills to become the best you that you can be—to reach your full potential of leadership and growth.
Stewarding Life is a different concept. Rather than focusing on self-fulfillment and personal legacy, we start by recognizing that life is a gift from God, and He has entrusted it to us to steward for Him. (more…)

A Texas pastor has been in the news spotlight ever since he gave a forthright answer to reporters last Friday.
Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas, was requested to introduce Texas Governor Rick Perry at the Values Voter Summit in Washington. After Perry’s speech, a reporter asked Pastor Jeffress what he thought about Mormonism (which happens to be the religion of Mitt Romney). Jeffress answered directly, “Mormonism is a cult.”
As soon as Pastor Jeffress’ comment hit the wires, the man was attacked and maligned. Bill Bennett referred to Mr. Jeffress as a bigot. Governor Perry quickly distanced himself from the remarks and from Jeffress. And the media has blasted Jeffress all weekend.
But let me ask you, is it really “bigoted” to make an honest statement concerning your convictions? Pastor Jeffress did not say hateful remarks about Romney as a person. He didn’t even make derogatory comments about Mormons. He simply stated what has long been the position of evangelical Christians. (more…)

When my aunts and uncles were growing up on a ranch in Southwest Colorado, a man by the name of “Pop Kinney” visited the house. He explained that he was with the American Sunday School Union and was holding a Vacation Bible School for kids there in that rural area.
My granddad wasn’t much interested in religion. He had only been in one church service in his life, and they told him he needed to be baptized to go to Heaven. Later, he brought a family member to a healing crusade, but the family member was apparently too sick. Security made sure she never made it to the front of the line. From that day on, Granddad was disillusioned and thought it was all pretty fake.
But Pop Kinney was a different kind of Christian than anyone Granddad had met before. He was bold in his witness, but kind in his demeanor, and he was not at all ashamed of the Gospel. Pretty soon, Pop Kinney had all of my aunts and uncles going to the Vacation Bible School. (more…)

Christ’s last command before He ascended to Heaven is found in Mark 16:15: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Every person has an eternal soul, and it is our privilege and responsibility to share with them the good news of salvation. Proverbs 11:30 says, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” Although we do not save souls, we are to witness to them and lead them to the Lord who does save them.
How can we take these biblical principles and practically apply them in personally leading others to Christ?
We must first realize that no one becomes a good soulwinner by accident. Fruitful soulwinning happens through Spirit-filled people who develop habits of being ready and available for God to use them.
Below are seven habits that I have noticed are consistently present in men and women who regularly lead others to Christ: (more…)
