One of my greatest passions as a pastor is to see people become firmly rooted in a personal walk with God through consistently spending time with Him. For the past several years, I have written daily devotions, available through email and web, to encourage growing Christians in their walk with the Lord.

I’m excited to announce that we have just completed a revamping of this resource to make it even more useable and helpful! Our theme for Lancaster Baptist Church this year is “Rooted in Christ,” and I’m praying that this tool will help many draw nourishment from the Lord through this coming year.

Each Daily in the Word devotion now includes four helpful resources:

  • A devotional truth—Each devotion is written to encourage you to seek the Lord and to personally and practically apply His truth to your daily living.
  • A daily rooted principle—This principle provides a solid “takeaway” from the devotion to help you more deeply root yourself in God’s truth.
  • An Old and New Testament passage—These Scriptures, included just below the devotional thought, will guide you through reading the entire Bible in one year. This means that by simply using this resource every day, you can complete a read-through of the entire Bible by December 31.
  • Share buttons—These buttons make it easy for you to email, tweet, or share on Facebook helpful truths from this resource.

In addition to revamping the devotions, we have re-launched this site to make it simple and streamlined for you. There are three ways you can receive these devotions and Scripture texts:

Nothing in a Christian’s life can replace daily spending time in God’s Word, practically applying God’s truth, and then sharing personal growth with others. I pray that this resource is a help in all three areas.
