Growth Points 006—Religion, Grace, & the Local Church

Perhaps the subject most near the heart of Christ is that of the local church. He gave His life for the church (Ephesians 5:25) and purchased it with His own blood (Acts 20:28).

So what should be our response when people suggest that religion is void of grace and may be discarded?

  1. Thank you for addressing this very important topic. It does appear many are trying to diminish the importance of the local church through a misunderstanding of grace. Well said! Religion apart from Jesus Christ is empty, void, and fruitless. Religion based upon the finished work of Christ and serving Him through obedient love is pure and undefiled (James 1:27).

  2. Pastor Chappell,

Thank you so much for your encouraging words. My family and I love our Pastor and his family. It is so encouraging during this time of religion/grace dispute to reiterate that the real purpose of the NT church is to encourage one another and grow in grace. I agree point on with everything you said in this video blog.

    Growing in Grace,
