John Knox

John Knox 1513–1572
Edinburgh, Scotland
John Knox spent nine months in Scotland encouraging reformation. He discouraged mass and encouraged the Lord’s Supper. The eulogy given in the churchyard of St. Giles by the Earl of Mortoun, the regent of Scotland, says, “Here lieth a man who in his life never feared the face of man, who hath been often threatened with dagger, but yet hath ended his days in peace and honour.”
