Our 25th Anniversary and Spiritual Leadership Conference is fast approaching. We’ve already spent many hours preparing for these days, and I’m looking forward to the rich fellowship and preaching.
When we started this conference over ten years ago, we named it “Spiritual Leadership Conference” because we wanted to emphasize the importance of godly, Spirit-filled leadership in the church. I see three special roles a spiritual leader is called to fill, and we’ve specifically designed the conference to emphasize all three: (more…)

One of our highlights of the year at Lancaster Baptist Church is hosting the annual Spiritual Leadership Conference on our campus in July. Pastors from across America and around the world have visited this conference, and the Lord has used this time to inspire and equip His men to do a greater work for Him.
A few years ago the Lord laid on my heart to conduct several regional conferences each year for the purpose of spiritual leadership and local church training. These “Striving Together” conferences feature soul stirring messages in the evening services and practical daytime sessions for full-time workers and laymen alike. There is no cost for the Striving Together conferences—each delegate is simply asked to RSVP with the host church so we can prepare a complimentary set of materials and lesson handouts for each family. What a joy it was during Spiritual Leadership Conference to be able to serve the many pastors, missionaries, and churches who attended. Many have expressed the services and workshops were a monumental help to them, and they are already letting us know how they are implementing the truths they learned this week in their home ministries. As our church now begins our 25th year of ministry, we’re asking the Lord to continue to use us and to reignite our passion for His work. Like the early church in Jerusalem, we desire to continue steadfastly (Acts 2:42), consistently moving forward in the work of the Lord.
Last Sunday night, I shared with our church family three reasons, given in Acts 2:42–45, that the early church continued on. Any church who follows these principles can stand strong for the Lord in the years ahead. (more…)

I’m excited to see the final touches going into our new parking lot construction. Being finished just in time for Spiritual Leadership Conference, this project will provide us with about 200 new parking spaces and a four-lane driveway. These two lanes in and two lanes out of our campus will be a tremendous blessing for the many guests during our conference and greatly facilitate traffic flow for our church services as well.
Our church family has not only given sacrificially for this project, but they have prayed fervently for it to be completed this week. We appreciate the extra work of our contractors to get this project completed. (more…)
