Leadership Lessons
A Winning Team
I love this time of year. Around the campus of Lancaster Baptist, the trees are blossoming, the weather is warming, and another great year of ministry is well under way.Of course, with springtime comes the March Madness college basketball games leading to the Final Four and to the National Championship. I've always enjoyed watching the NCAA final playoffs. Game after game, each team takes the court with one goal in mind–to win the game.
The Spirit That God Blesses
As Christians, we each can possess attitudes that quench the Spirit and attitudes that invite the Spirit. May we live each day of our lives in a way that is inviting to the Holy Spirit.
I recently taught our staff this principle in our weekly staff meeting. I hope it will be a blessing to you.
The Spirit That God Blesses
Daniel 3
- The Spirit of Humility
"But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble." James 4:6
Ten Characteristics of a Spirit-led Church
Here's a practical lesson I shared with our staff a while back:
1. Fear of the LordA. He is Worthy of Our Reverence - Acts 2:43-44, Proverbs 10:27
B. We Are Faithful in the Awareness of His Presence
1. Faithful in service
2. Faithful in righteous living
2. Desire For The Holy Spirit's Fullness
"The degree to which we understand and experience the Holy Spirit will be the exact degree to which we understand and experience God's will for our churches."
A. Through Unity of Believers - Acts 2:1
B. Through Continual Yieldedness - Ephesians 5:18
The Leader's Greatest Commodity
Webster’s: com·mod·i·ty: something useful or valued <that valuable commodity>; a good or service whose wide availability typically leads to smaller profit margins and diminishes the importance of factors (as brand name) other than price.
As Leaders, our God-given commodity is influence.
Making a Difference
Jude 22God gives to every man a gift called "potential" and as we reach that potential by His grace we can make a difference.
