The Revels Academic Building
This past weekend, Lancaster Baptist Church and West Coast Baptist College dedicated the newly-constructed Revels Academic Building. This building is dedicated to the glory of God and to the training of men and women who will go out into all the world telling others about Christ.
As I write this post my heart identifies with the psalmist as he wrote, "This is the LORD's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes." (Psalm 118:23)
My prayer is that those of you reading this article will soon be able to visit with us here and see what God has done. I've included some photos below to give you a glimpse into the Revels Building.
As you enter through the main doors, a beautiful fountain welcomes the guests and students. This fountain was given in honor of Dr. John Goetsch and Dr. Mark Rasmussen, who have invested their lives in the training of the next generation.
The Campus Bookstore is also an exciting addition to our church and college. With thousands of selections, one can quickly find a variety of resources for Christian growth.
Also on the first floor, you'll find a full-scale coffee shop. The Great Awakening Cafe was named by one of the students of West Coast during a contest we had some months ago.
My favorite room of the Revels Building is the auditorium. In this room, young preachers will learn how to prepare a sermon and then be able to to practice in an actual auditorium setting.
The state-of-the-art piano lab on the second floor is comprised of twenty-four pianos, as well as private practice rooms.
Two computer labs are located on the second floor. The fifty new Dell computer systems will be an excellent resource for students during the school year.
Among other classrooms on the third floor, the science lab will be a great place of training for the secondary education majors of West Coast Baptist College. This lab is equipped with twenty-two student stations outfitted with sinks, natural gas, and lab tools.
Adjacent to the science lab, is the home economics lab. The home economics lab consists of nine full-kitchen stations, plus equipment for sewing instruction.
After nearly sixteen months of construction, prayers, and anticipation, the new educational building is ready for use. I am certainly excited about the completion of this building, however, my excitement for the future leaders who will train in this building is immeasurable. To God be the glory for the great things He has done!
Please continue to pray that God will provide for the remaining financial needs related to this project. Pray that we will see this building completely paid for in the coming months for His Glory.
